Discipleship

"May you be covered in the dust of your rabbi."

This is an old Jewish saying that was often said to young disciples as they went off to follow their rabbi.  After they had completed all the tasks and been invited by a rabbi to follow, the young disciples left everything behind.  Their families, friends, jobs...all left behind.

This is our desire.  Through our discipleship classes we hope to equip our members to be able to follow Jesus so closely that they are covered in His dust.

Ephesians chapter 4 explains that we are to be equipping the saints for the work of service for the building up of the body of Christ.  At First Rosenberg we strive to equip our church members in a variety of ways.

Children

Our children are equipped through:

RA's, GA's, and Mission Friends to learn about God's work in the World and how they can be a part of that Kingdom work.  We also offer AWANA Clubs that help our children to memorize God's Word and teaches them what the verses mean.

Students

Our students are equipped through a small group Bible study called Ground Zero led by our student minister, Joel.  They also participate in youth camps, D-Now weekends, mission trips and other opportunities to exercise their Christian service to those who do not know Jesus as Savior and to the body of Christ.

Adult

Our adults are offered a variety of life enriching classes.  Some classes teach life skills such as parenting, marriage, and financial management from a Christian perspective.  Other classes focus on more in-depth Bible Study such as studying a specific book of the Bible or certain people of the Bible.
